The two entrances — which to start from
The park has two ticket offices and gates. The eastern entrance by the Temple of Juno is the higher one; start here and you walk gently downhill along the Via Sacra to the western entrance at Sant’Anna. Doing it in reverse means an uphill finish. A shuttle bus runs between the two gates if you don’t want to walk back to your car.
If you’re driving, park at the eastern (Juno) entrance, walk downhill through the temples, then take the shuttle bus back up to your car — it saves the 2 km uphill return in the heat.
How to get there
- By car — about 10 minutes from Agrigento town; car parks at both entrances. The park is signposted “Valle dei Templi”.
- By bus — local TUA buses (lines 1, 2/, 3/) run from Agrigento Centrale station and Piazzale Rosselli to the temples in about 15–20 minutes.
- By train then bus/taxi — trains reach Agrigento Centrale from Palermo (~2 hrs); it’s a short hop to the park from there.
- By organised tour — day trips from Palermo and Catania include the transport and a guide.
Where exactly is it?
The park stretches along the ridge south of Agrigento. The eastern ticket office is near the Temple of Juno on Via Panoramica Valle dei Templi; the western ticket office (Porta V) is at Contrada Sant’Anna, off Via Caduti di Marzabotto.
